Welcome to NSSED
It is with great enthusiasm that I write and introduce myself to you as the new Superintendent of the Northern Suburban Special Education District. As a trained educator in both general and special education, I have over 20 years in the field as a teacher, university instructor, and central office administrator working to improve the lives of students of all abilities, passions, and talents.
Having immigrated to Illinois from Wisconsin four-years ago, and being new to the role of Superintendent as well as NSSED this year, I am greatly impressed with the deep care, passion, and commitment by the parents, staff, and community to truly do their best work to meet the needs of your students. Although my journey only began just a few weeks ago, I can already observe the warm and collaborative spirit that makes this region so special.
In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to meeting many more of you. The success of our services is built on partnerships with families and the community at-large. Without these relationships, the high quality of our work would not be possible. While we have much to learn, and there are always new ways to innovate and improve, please understand we recognize the privilege we have been given in educating your students and the mission to all of what is possible in every student.
Have a great 2016-2017 school year!
