At NSSED we are dedicated and committed to the possibility in every child. Our staff is passionate in helping students reach their personal goals and learn the skills for success in their life. At the core of NSSED is the vision that we work to ensure our students become successful, happy adults in their home, school, work, and community endeavors.

Integral to our vision is our commitment to creating partnerships with everyone involved in the potential success of our students, including family, potential employers and community partners. NSSED teachers and staff are highly trained and innovative people who adapt goals, classrooms, strategies and interventions to meet the needs of all types of learners. Our staff works to meet the needs of students in NSSED programs as well as the needs of students in our member districts.

Employment Opportunities

NSSED employs a wide variety of trained professionals in serving all types of learners. Our personnel include teachers, school psychologists, school social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, teaching assistants and office support personnel.

NSSED partners with universities and colleges to provide training opportunities for students teachers, practicum students and interns in a variety of educationally related fields of study. Additionally, NSSED employs psychology interns and is a partner site with the Illinois School Psychology Internship Consortium (http://psychology.illinoisstate.edu/ispic/).
