Parent Academy is educational programming created by the NSSED Association of Parents and Staff in collaboration with it's member school districts parent leadership groups. The Academy's purpose is to provide parents professional learning that empowers them to be active, collaborative, and engaged members of their child’s educational team and school community. These workshops are free and open to the community.
Parent Academy Learning Cohorts cover a comprehensive study of a specific area of the educational, parent or disability field. Series are scheduled over the course of several months. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions within a series as materials and knowledge build from one session to the next. Also, there are multiple topics covered in the Learning Cohort, however we encourage you to look at the Sequenced Learning schedule for deeper insight into some of the topics covered in the Cohort.
Questions can be directed to Susan Hans, NSSED Parent Mentor at (831) 5100 x 2228 (shans@nssed.org).
