The NSSED Parent Education Series On Transition: Funding, Housing and Employment helps families learn and understand their options for supporting their child outside of the school system. After the school years, parents become the main advocate (case manager) for their child, so it is important to learn about the options that are available to create a set of supports in the community. These two hour workshops are free and open to the community.
Questions can be directed to Susan Hans, NSSED Parent Mentor at (831) 5100 x 2228 (shans@nssed.org).

How to define and create a meaningful day for young adults
Service providers working in the areas of employment support, art therapy and community coaching will discuss how to best structure a day that is feasible, and meaningful,  for your adults with disabilities.  This session will talk about lifelong learning and coaching as well as recreational options in the community.
