Through participation in this program, you will to learn to identify different behavior levels that an agitated individual may experience from anxiety to a physically aggressive crisis situation. Through the CPI framework, you will learn proactive strategies for prevention, de-escalating strategies for low-level behaviors, physical intervention techniques for aggressive behavior, and strategies to repair and problem solve after a crisis situation.

In order for participants to be certified, the Crisis Prevention Institute requires attendees to pass a written test at the end of the training. Early release is therefore not available. A half-day refresher course is required every 12 months (not to exceed 18 months) in order to maintain certification.

PD Hours: 6.5
Registration/Coffee: 8:00 am to 8:30 am
Session: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (One hour lunch - on your own)

Any person with with a licence through Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is required to enter their Illinois Educator Identification Number (IEIN) when registering for this class. You can find your number by logging into the Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS)
