Intended Audience: Teachers, teaching assistants, SLPs, and other school staff who will be implementing the program within approximately the next two months of school. Language for Learning is designed for kindergarten and primary age school children, as well as English language learners
Activity Description: Language for Learning provides young learners with the knowledge and understanding of language they need to achieve proficiency and reading comprehension. This SRA oral language program teaches children the words, concepts, and statements important to both oral and written language, and helps enable them to extend this knowledge to other areas of their development.
Learning Objectives: Participants will
- Identify the essential features of a Direct Instruction program.
- Understand the purpose and rationale of Language for Learning including scope and sequence, teaching strategies, and progress monitoring.
- Demonstrate effective teaching strategies during a sample lesson.
PD Credit Hours: 3.0

Session: 8:30 am to 11:30 am
