Activity Description: Nearly all students can benefit from print-based visual supports in the classroom, and Boardmaker Online is one tool that can be used to create these supports. Whether you are new to Boardmaker Online, you have used the CD version before and want tips for using the Online version, or you simply want creation time, this training is for you. We will spend the first part of this session reviewing the research behind using visual supports and examples from the classroom such as labels, rules, signs, schedules, checklists, wait strips, behavioral reminders, picture directions, communication boards, and more! Then participants will go over step-by-step how to use Boardmaker Online to create print-based visual supports both from scratch and templates. Tips and tricks to customize materials, save time, and include photos/web images will also be shared. Finally, you will outline the visual supports you'd like to create and spend time making these. All will share with the group what they create and use these materials back in the classroom.
Please bring a laptop computer and access to a Boardmaker Online account. If you have any technology needs, please state this on your registration.
