NSSED will establish and maintain the standard of excellence for the delivery of programming and services for students with disabilities based on current, state-of-the-art research and practice related to curriculum and instruction. The standard of excellence will be established by using a process of research, implementation, and train-and-coach.

Strategic Vision I: Curriculum and Instruction

1. Develop a NSSED Curriculum committee that will provide direction and oversight regarding the development of future curricular initiatives (e.g. curriculum review cycle, long-range professional development plan).

2. Build understanding and consensus for EC, ELS, NSA and District & Support Services regarding elements of good instruction.

3. Build infrastructure of curriculum development for EC, ELS, NSA and District & Support Services.

NSSED will establish and maintain the standard of excellence using school, family and community partnerships to ensure that the student outcomes are realized in educational and non-educational settings currently and in the future. The standard of excellence will be set by using a process of research, implementation, and train-and-coach.

Strategic Vision 2: Partnership

1.    Identify the fundamental components of essential Partnership programming and services.

2.    Build understanding and consensus throughout NSSED regarding the use of a Partnership model.

3.    Build infrastructure of Partnership work within NSSED programs.
