Target Audience: This training is appropriate for school staff who participate on teams that are responsible for conducting behavior assessments
and developing behavior plans, such as general education teachers, special education staff and building administrators.
Description: This training is 3 of a 3 session series for teams to develop behavior plans for students based on their individual needs. Participants will learn essentials to developing a comprehensive behavior intervention plan based on data. A focus on writing goals and developing a plan to evaluate behavior plan effectiveness will be included. Specific teaming tools, such as behavior plan
templates and data collection methods, will be reviewed to support the development and evaluation of comprehensive plans. Participants will learn decision-making rules to analyze progress-monitoring data in order to determine level of educational need (i.e., discrepancy), rates of improvement and level of resources to support intervention needs. A discussion on refining the Behavior Intervention Plan within a teaming process will also be included. Time will be allotted for discussion and feedback to participants on their case example.
